形態特徵

• Small trees to 10 m tall; branches stout, glabrescent.
• Leaves thick coriaceous, crowded at apex of branches, lanceolate-oblong, 8–15 cm long, 1.5–3 cm broad, apex obtuse, base attenuate, margin entire, recurved, upper surface dark green glabrous, lustrous, lower surface covered with pale gray crustaceous indumentum, midrib impressed on upper surface, strongly raised on lower surface, lateral veins 10–12 pairs, indistinct; petiole 1–1.5 cm long, thick, glabrous.
• Flowers 7–15, in terminal umbels; pedicel slender, 3–4 cm long, sparsely pubescent; calyx obscure, short, with 5 broad teeth, puberulous; corolla white or pink, broadly funnelform, ca. 4 cm in diam., 5-lobed, lobes rounded or slightly emarginate; stamens 10–12, included, unequal, filaments sparsely pilose at base; ovary pubescent, style glabrous.
• Capsule ellipsoid, ca. 8 cm long, rufous pubescent.

分布

• 台灣 : in broad-leaved forests, at between 600 and 2,400 m throughout the island.
